Another great band that we are proud to add to our booking list. This band is 'SCAR OF THE SUN' - Modern Metal band from Greece. Scar Of The Sun is a Modern Metal band from Athens, Greece. Starting out as a Modern Atmospheric Metal outfit, they progressively evolved their sound into a fresh mix of Metal core and Djent. The band draws influences from Kill switch Engage to Architects and from Katatonia to TesseracT, mixing them with their own unique approach and creating their trademark sound. Music and image become one, as this is emphasized by a strong visual identity that evokes the Vienna Secession era (Jugendstil) and seeps into every crevice, from logo and cover art, to photography, video and soon stage clothes.

The band was formed in the late ’00s in London, England, by singer Terry (who was working for Century Media Records at the time). Terry had the vision to create a band that will incorporate many different musical elements in a completely modern and catchy blend. After releasing their first demo that was named demo of the month by Metal Hammer GR, the band recorded their first full-length album. High profile Canadian producer Rhys Fulber (Fear Factory, Paradise Lost, Machine Head) was at the helm of the production while the album also featured guest appearances by M. Stanne (Dark Tranquillity), C. Antoniou (SepticFlesh), B. Katsionis (Firewind, Serious Black). “A Series Of Unfortunate Concurrencies” was released in 2011 by Scarlet Records with great success, being also included in many “best album of the year” lists around the world. SOTS supported the release of their debut album with three European tours with bands like Dark Tranquillity, Insomnium, Rage, Moonspell and Pain. The band released also a video for the song “Swansong Of Senses”, filmed and edited by Achilleas Gatsopoulos (Pet Shop Boys, Steven Wilson, Dark Tranquillity) and Bob Katsionis.

After the extensive touring, the band entered their own Zero Gravity Studios in Athens, Greece to record their follow up album “In Flood” that includes also guest appearances by B.Katsionis and Van Labrakis (Armin Van Buuren, Paul Oakenfold). Scarlet Records released their sophomore album in 2016; it was once again produced by Rhys Fulber and it was mixed by S.Koliousis (Keep Of Kalessin, Kvelertak, Satan’s Wrath). The album was an even bigger success getting raving reviews and extensive radio play in more than thirty countries around the world. The band supported the release by touring the UK and Europe with Firewind. The tour was also a huge success both in terms of fans’ reactions towards the band and financially, drawing big attention from the media, promoters and labels. SOTS filmed two videos in support of their album for the songs “An Ill-Fated Wonder” that was recorded and filmed live at Zero Gravity Studios and for “Among Wonders And Giants” that will be released in September 2017. For the videos the band worked for one more time with Achilleas Gatsopoulos and Bob Katsionis.

At the same time, the band recorded their third album “Inertia” that will be ready for a release in September 2017. The album was recorded at Zero Gravity Studios for one more time and it will be mixed by the band’s singer Terry Nikas (Septic Flesh, Suicidal Angels, Nightrage) and mastered by Jens Bogren (Opeth, Katatonia, Kreator). This album is their heaviest and most aggressive effort to date, incorporating the most brutal vocals the band ever used. It is more than obvious that SOTS sculpted their complete own sound that has evolved tremendously in regards to their debut, without changing the unique character of the band. Check them out!
